Thermal Operations & Water
Treatment
Introduction:
This course is
designed to cover the operation of steam injection used in Thermal Recovery
technique in the oil industry for Heavy Oil recovery. Thermal Recovery Methods
are the best techniques for ultimate recovery and it is usually applied to
heavy and medium oil. The course will mainly deal with the operation of surface
facilities for steam injection process plants and will provide a practical
guide to water treatment operations, steam generation, chemical dosing and
boiler water treatment strategies. The candidates will also learn the
importance of water treatment guidelines, thermodynamic properties of water
(steam), heat loss and heat transmission calculation and how to prevent scale,
corrosion and fouling.
