NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health IA + IB + IC + DNI (Course & Examination)

Introduction:

The NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is a structured program that provides the core knowledge required by today’s health and safety practitioner. All occupational health and safety practitioners need to have a common core of knowledge in order to practice effectively. This common core of knowledge must be transferable between the different occupational sectors in which they may work, ranging across all parts of industry, commerce and the public sector. The NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety provides the knowledge and understanding that underpins competent performance as an occupational health and safety practitioner.

The NEBOSH International Diploma is a qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals, building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. The Diploma is designed to provide students with the expertise required to undertake a career as a health and safety practitioner and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.

The NEBOSH International Diploma builds on the knowledge gained at NEBOSH Certificate level and is based on international standards and best practice. It is made up of four units which must be completed within five years to achieve the NEBOSH Diploma qualification.

Course Objectives:

On completion of each unit, delegates should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the domain knowledge covered through:

·      The application of knowledge to familiar and unfamiliar situations

·      The critical analysis and evaluation of information presented in both quantitative and qualitative forms

N.B. Each element will have additional specific learning outcomes.

Who Should Attend?

The NEBOSH International Diploma is designed for health and safety professionals who require a high degree of managerial and technical competence to advise on effective management of risk across the range of employment sectors. There are no barriers to entry to the NEBOSH International Diploma program.  However, the syllabus assumes the broad basic knowledge of health and safety that is provided by a qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, in particular the NEBOSH International General Certificate. Given the demands of diploma study, the time commitment required and the complementary nature of the NEBOSH International Certificate and International Diploma, the achievement of the NEBOSH International General Certificate or direct equivalent prior to undertaking the Diploma course is highly recommended.
