LOLER Assessor: Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations

Introduction:

The Regulations aim to reduce risks to people’s health and safety from lifting equipment provided for use at work. Lifting equipment includes any equipment used at work for lifting or lowering loads, including attachments used for anchoring, fixing or supporting it. The Regulations cover a wide range of equipment including, cranes, fork-lift trucks, lifts, hoists, mobile elevating work platforms, and vehicle inspection platform hoists. The definition also includes lifting accessories such as chains, slings, eyebolts etc.

This course will enable the candidates to understand the LOLER Regulations, their duties and to be able to carry out assessments methodically. It, also, aims to increase the knowledge of the candidates to the requirements of these regulations and help them develop an action plan to enable those requirements to be met. This course provides the candidates with an awareness of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and gives an overview of industry best practice in relation to working with lifting equipment.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course delegates will learn about:

· Be aware of the current legislation that affects lifting operations & equipment   

· Understand the requirements of the relevant legislation
Understand the requirement of the  Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulation  

· Be aware of the responsibilities placed on an employee in relation to lifting operations & equipment   

· Demonstrate the ability to carry out a risk assessment and take appropriate actions with regard to lifting operations

· Do risk assessments and method statements in the workplace

· Keep the statutory required records

· Complete the relevant documentation

· Recognize hazards and the controls required

· Understand the implications of non-compliance

· Apply the regulations to particular situations

· Understand the role of the inspectorate (HSE & local)

· State to whom the regulations apply

· State the equipment to which LOLER applies

· Conduct a risk assessment of Lifting Operations

· Introduce control measures to enable compliance with the LOLER Regulations

· State the thorough examination and inspection requirements of the LOLER Regulations

COURSE CERTIFICATE

Certificate of Completion will be provided to the candidate(s) who successfully attend and complete the course. Training hours attendance percentage of 75% is required.


TRAINING HOURS

Standard course hours: 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Informal discussions: 4:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Pre-Test and Post-Test Assessment are applied on 5-day and 10-day programs. Also, post course evaluation and candidate’s evaluation are applied to add another level of quality measurement. Candidates’ feedback is highly appreciated to elevate the training service quality.

REGISTRATION POLICY

Nominations to our public courses are to be processed by the client’s Training and/or HR departments. A refund will be issued back to the client in the event of course cancellation or seat unavailability. A confirmation will be issued to the relevant department official(s). 


CANCELLATION POLICY

If a confirmed registration is cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the course start date, a substitute participant may be nominated to attend the same course or a 20% cancellation charge is applied. In case of a no-show, a 100% fee will be charged.


PAYMENT POLICY

Payment is due upon receiving the course confirmation, invoice and/or proforma invoice. However; the fee due can be wire transferred to our bank account directly after course completion. Our bank details are illustrated on the confirmation, invoice and proforma invoice, as well. The above documents can be communicated electronically, i.e., in a soft copy or/and in hard copy based on customer’s request.
